The Team

Timothy Kinsinger - chief executive officer

Tim is a veteran financial advisor excited about the prospect of helping those in the world who need help the most. His business affords the expense, and he supplied the planning and implementation that has resulted in up to 500 children a day being fed, educated and supervised in a secure caring environment. All it took was 527 pounds of porridge flour a month properly distributed, salaries for teachers and their assistants and monies for rudimentary maintenance of a large classroom with no plumbing, heating or electricity. Your dollar goes a long way in Malawi and they are sorely needed.

Dr. Richard Reich - President

Dr. Reich is a retired dental surgeon, retired Brigadier General and all around good guy with a heart of gold. What he experienced changed the way he looks at the world. That is why he’s now President of Project 1000.

When Dr. Reich’s financial support and business acumen is thrown into the equation it makes attainment of the ultimate goal of Project 1000 almost a certainty. There are many charities to chose to help and we are privileged that we are one of Dr. Reich’s beneficiaries.

Benjamin Voss – Treasurer

Ben Voss is our man on the ground in Malawi. He moved to Zomba, Malawi in 2005 and founded Africycle, Malawi. Africycle holds charitable status in Canada and became a registered Malawian Trust in 2010. Bicycles are the second most common form of transportation in Malawi, next to walking. Bicycles improve the mobility of Malawian households and helps them access basic necessities for life. Each year Ben oversees the collection of thousands of donated bikes from Canada to be shipped to Malawi for repair and resale to Malawians. Africycle has provided bicycles to over 400 health care workers and has worked to train over 600 health surveillance workers for the Ministry of Health in Malawi. Proceeds from the sale of bicycles go to charity.

Ben co-founded Grace Orphan Care over 10 years ago. We funnel funds through accounts set up through Africycle and a registered Malawian Trust. Ben oversees the purchase of food, the payroll for teachers and staff, and other expenses associated with running Grace. He keeps track of all expenses, provides receipts to donors for tax purposes, reconciles the books and troubleshoots for the board. Ben Voss makes Project 1000 possible.
